Windows 7, not using IPv6 with WIFI, DISABLE IT!

Ok, I haven't blogged in while. I will try to to be better about blogging :)

Here is a helpful hint that hopefully you will be able to find via GoogBingoo! (lol)

If you are using IPv4 only with WIFI on windows 7, make sure you have it disabled on your adapter. Recently I have experience strange connection losses if it is enabled (even though it is NOT addressed).

Service by The United States Postal Service

Thanks to my friend Harold for capturing this.

A box from Amazon for me, nicely compressed and shoved into a mailbox. And yes, the item inside was fragile.

Who is John Sandford?

"But Weldon wouldn't give you a dollar for any painting I can think of. Unless it was like a blond woman with big boobs"

I found this by accident when Googling myself (I am just that arrogant).

search for Weldon inside the book.

I don't think I know John. Maybe just a coincidence...

If I know John, I think I must have pissed him off. He wouldn't be the first, or the last.

Adobe Annoyance

I find it very ANNOYING that every time Adobe Acrobat Reader updates in MS Windows it creates a desktop shortcut that I end up deleting to control my desktop clutter. It is Acrobat READER! Why would I want to bring that up by itself instead of clicking on what I want to read?

Relationship Killers

Ok, I came to realize this a long time ago. Maybe more than a decade ago. Before I met my wife, I was pretty lonely, I definitely wasn't a 'lady's man'. My friends seem to have better luck in that area. But I realized I was wrong. From the sidelines, I observed that being lonely was far better than being an a dysfunctional relationship. As I watched relationships die, I came to identify these three relationship killers. read more...

We define a Gigabyte as ...

I love the fact the hard disk manufacturers tend to list their disk drive capacity in powers of 10 instead of powers of 2 (likely because the round-down error makes their drives seem bigger).

In that case. Why not try to adapt an Atari 1050 disk drive? It can store 1 Terabyte* of data on a single sided double density floppy disk!

*I choose to define a Terabyte as 130,048 bytes.

STOP the thousandths digit in fuel prices!

Ok, I can understand when gas was in the $0.13 range, making it $0.135 is a large percentage increase. I can also understand back then you would want to make $0.24 gas look A LOT cheaper by saying $0.239. But when fuel prices are $1.50-$5.00/gallon, everyone appending 9/10 of 1 cent to every price is just silly!
